LOVE BEGINS AT 50
by Raymond Hopkins

We moved our location to bring the tale of Clive DeBanks and his interesting 50th Brithday Party to our audience. The production took place at Freckleton Memorial Hall, nr Preston, on 18th and 19th May.

This was the first major production by the newly formed Harlequins and we were pleasantly surprised at the number of people who came to watch.

They seemed to enjoy it - and we received a lot of positive feedback.

Thanks to our audience for turning up, and an even bigger thanks to all those associated with Harlequins - as either members, or family friends, for their assistance with the production

  FROM NODA NW REVIEWS:

LOVE BEGINS AT 50

Harlequins

This was a very funny play about a man who, having reached the age of 50, decides to have a last fling. He rings a dating phone line and has a procession of very different ladies come to visit him. In the meantime he and his wife have won a holiday in the local newspaper competition.

It is during one of the lady's visits that the photographer arrives and of course, the photo printed in the paper is not of his wife. You can imagine the scene when the wife sees the photo.

A talented cast did their best and made the most of the small stage and simple set.

From the more experienced members to some taking their first stepsall of them played their parts well. I was still laughing on the way home.
